5. The Golden Lamb
Ohio’s oldest business, The Golden Lamb, has been around since 1803.
It got its name from the golden lamb sign outside, used because many early travelers couldn’t read. This historic spot has hosted 12 U.S. presidents, political figures like Barbara Bush and Mitt Romney, American legend Neil Armstrong, literary greats like Mark Twain, and even pop star Kesha. Today, it’s a vibrant restaurant and boutique hotel, showcasing its rich heritage through museum rooms and Shaker culture displays.
